Choice FM to become Capital XTRA

Global Radio will rebrand its urban music station Choice FM as Capital XTRA from 7 October.

The station, which will play urban dance music, will launch at 06:00 on Monday with Kojo & Jade with XTRA in the Morning. Presenters will also include Tim Westwood, Craig David and DJ Avicii.

Choice FM began in Brixton in 1990 as Britain's first 24-hour black music radio station, covering South London.

Capital XTRA will broadcast to London on 96.9 and 107.1FM, nationally on DAB digital radio, and online at capitalxtra.com. The station can be found tweeting @CapitalXTRA.
