The John O’Groat Journal and Caithness Courier have appointed Karen Steven as editor.

Steven joined the papers in 1989, and in that time has worked her way up from junior reporter to the editorship of both Scottish Provincial Press publications.

She takes over from Alan Hendry, who had held the editorial position for the past 20 years.

Following the departure of Hendry, Steven will be focusing on “changing the way we work [and] continuing to produce the quality papers that our readers have come to expect”.
