FT journalist joins Times as business editor
The FT’s New York bureau chief, David Wighton, has been appointed business and city editor at The Times.
Wighton joined the FT in 1994 and has been US banking editor, US news editor, financial news editor, UK companies editor and chief political correspondent.
James Harding, editor of The Times, has also announced other changes at the paper.
John Wellman, home editor, has been appointed deputy head of news, an integrated position across print and online, responsible for early day coverage and advance planning.
Jeremy Griffin, deputy sports editor, has been appointed assistant head of news, online, taking responsibility for all online news coverage.
The current Times online editor, Brigid Callaghan, has been made editor of Times Mobile, developing news and features on mobile platforms.
