Two Scottish freesheets, Local News South and Local News northWESTeast, will merge to form a single newspaper, Local News Glasgow, from 12 August.

Local News Glasgow, a monthly community newspaper, will be distributed free across the whole of Glasgow with a print run of approximately 60,000.

It will complement the recently launched website, localnewsglasgow.co.uk.

Publisher and editor of YAM Publications, Grace Franklin, said: “This is an exciting time for us and we see opportunities in this recession. We will continue to highlight the positive things people are doing in local communities with our genuine Local News coverage.”
