GNM appoint five senior editors
Guardian News & Media (GNM) has announced five senior appointments, as part of continuing plans to integrate coverage across The Guardian, Observer, and Guardian Unlimited website.
The Guardian’s home editor, Nick Hopkins,will take on a new role as head of national news across the two national titles and the website.
Harriet Sherwood, Guardian foreign editor, becomes head of international news.
Ben Clissitt, the Guardian sports editor, will be head of sport.
Guardian business editor, Deborah Hargreaves, has been appointed head of business.
The Observer’s personal finance editor, Jill Insley, has been appointed as the head of consumer, and will also oversee the Guardian Money section and website.
These five editorial executives will report to Paul Johnson, who was recently appointed as overall head of news, business and sport.
