Havas PR has been appointed to handle PR for Rohan’s ‘Gift Your Gear’ initiative which aims to enable people to benefit from life changing experiences in the great outdoors, regardless of their circumstances.

Rohan’s 60 stores across the UK are encouraging people to bring any unwanted, but usable, outdoor trousers, jackets and fleeces into their shop. These will then be donated to local community organisations, youth groups and charities for outdoor projects.

Commenting on the appointment, Rohan’s Becky Serieys said: “Havas’s retail credentials were very impressive and they have unrivalled contacts in the regional media. We’re delighted to have them on board.”

Rohan is the original British technical clothing company and was founded in 1972 by Paul and Sarah Howcroft. Last year over 6,000 garments were collected by the stores for ‘Gift Your Gear’ and then donated to a variety of local causes.

The account will be handled out of Havas PR’s Manchester office and managing director, Brian Beech, has already donated his gear to his local store in Cheshire.
