Orion Media has announced that Heart 106 in the East Midlands will be rebranded as gem106.

The rebrand will happen once Orion’s franchise agreement with Global Radio comes to an end on 1 January 2011. This will be the fourth name change for the station since 1997.

Other Heart stations were recently reorganised by Global, though Heart 106 was not affected due to being licensed to Orion Media.
