Herald and Times group appoints editor in chief
The Herald and Times group has named Jonathan Russell as editor in chief of The Herald with overall responsibility for sister titles the Evening Times, the Sunday Herald and a number of associated magazines. Russell succeeds Donald Martin who leaves on 7 May.
Currently assistant editor of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail, Russell has held several other senior roles within Trinity Mirror including Scottish editor of the Daily Mirror and editor of the Paisley Daily Express.
