The Hertfordshire Mercury has appointed Abigayle Barber as news editor.

Barber, who was previously chief reporter at the weekly paper, replaces Andrew Dawson, who left the Mercury to work for Hertfordshire County Council.

Wil Longbottom has been appointed chief reporter.

The Hertfordshire Mercury is published in five regional editions by Herts & Essex Newspapers.
