High five for Havas PR UK

Havas PR UK has recruited five new members of staff across the network’s Manchester and Edinburgh offices.

Oonagh Spence has joined Havas PR UK in Manchester as a senior account manager. She moved from Rain Communications in London, where she managed a range of retail accounts including McArthurGlen Designer Outlets, John Lewis and Past Times. Prior to this she headed up the travel account for Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.

Account manager Heidi Boden has joined Havas PR UK in Manchester from RMS PR in Altrincham, where she worked for a range of consumer and professional services clients. Her new account portfolio includes Asda, Pets at Home and Vileda.

Susanne Collin has been appointed as an account manager for the agency’s Edinburgh office. She previously worked for Storm Communications in London and has five years’ consumer agency experience. Her client list at Havas PR UK includes Greggs, DFS, Debenhams and Mecca Bingo.

Two new account executives complete the list of new recruits. Lucy Turvey is a Public Relations and Media graduate from Sheffield Hallam University, while Victoria Murray graduated in International Business and Marketing at Strathclyde University. Both have completed internships at consumer PR agencies, while Victoria also has experience working in the Press Office at Havas PR UK client Debenhams.

The five appointments come on the back of a successful 2012 for the agency, which now employs 22 members of staff.

Agency managing director Brian Beech said: “We’ve posted growth yet again this year, which is no mean feat in the current climate and the new additions to the team are going to help us build on that success in 2013.

“I honestly think this is the best team we have had in my time at the agency and I’m really excited at what the year has in store for us.”
