Future Publishing has announced the launch of an iPad edition of Tap! magazine, the iPhone and iPad magazine.

Just like the print edition and digital Zinio version, the app helps iPad and iPod users find the best apps and games on the App Store. The app was built solely on the iPad – or “in Apple’s iPad simulator on a Mac” – to take advantage of all iPad features. It is hoped this will make the digital edition intuitive and easy to navigate.

Game reviews in the magazine will now be supplemented with high-quality video content, and the Kit section will feature swipeable 360° photography. Downloading a recommended app will be made easier with ‘Buy Now’ links that take the user straight to the App Store.

Text can be resized, selected, bookmarked, shared with social media, and read aloud by the iPad. There will also be how-to-guides supported with multimedia content to help get users started.

The monthly app will be released in the App Store on the same day as the print edition and Zinio editions. The first will be available on 29 September 2011 priced at £2.99.
