Kirsty Gibbins to leave East Lothian Courier

The East Lothian Courier's news editor, Kirsty Gibbins, is to leave the weekly newspaper on 9 November.

Gibbins is joining the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) as a communications officer on 12 November. She will handle media enquiries,  help improve SPS's digital communications, promote and create campaigns and initiatives, and produce internal publications for staff.

Gibbins joined the Courier in 2007, and worked her way up from trainee reporter to news editor at the paper within three years.

A replacement news editor at the East Lothian Courier has not yet been announced.
