Lancashire Evening Post appoints weekend news editor

The Lancashire Evening Post (LEP) has appointed Andy Sykes as weekend news editor.

Sykes, who will man the LEP newsdesk on Fridays and Saturdays, was previously deputy news editor at the Blackpool Gazette, where he had been replaced by Steve Dunthorne.

Blaise Tapp remains as overall head of content at the LEP.

Both papers are published by Johnston Press.

The Lancashire Evening Post is published Monday to Saturday, and is based in Preston.

The Blackpool Gazette is published from Monday to Saturday and has a circulation of 30,332.
