Andy Lines, head of news at the Daily Record and Sunday Mail, is leaving journalism to move into PR. He is joining Media House to run its London operation, and takes up his new post in early June.

Lines joined the Record in November 2007 following an 18-month career as a freelancer after he left the Mirror. He was head of news at the Daily Mirror for 10 years, and New York based US editor of the paper for five years covering 9/11.

He has also worked at the Daily Express and as an assistant news editor at The Sun.
