NPR has appointed Ari Shapiro as international correspondent, based in London.

Shapiro arrived in the UK earlier this month from Washington where he had been NPR's White House correspondent since 2010. He covers British and European news including that of the economy, politics, culture, music and the Royal Family.

Philip Reeves, former London international correspondent, is now Islamabad correspondent for the network.
