The Press Association has decided not to replace its current New York correspondent, Matt Williams, when he returns to the London newsroom at the end of the year.

However the PA will still have a multimedia journalist operating on the west coast of the USA.

The Press Association has had an office in New York since 2001, and each year sent a staff reporter on secondment there.
