PR awards reveal Cream of the Midlands
At the Cream ceremony, McCann Birmingham won the Grand Prix award in recognition of their 'Make Mum Proud for Once' campaign, a series of films calling for entries to Cream’s competitor, the Fresh Awards. Vince McSweeney, group executive creative director at McCann Birmingham, comments: “It says a lot about the integrity of the Cream Awards that the prize for best in show went to a campaign for a rival awards ceremony. Needless to say, we are thrilled it did!"
The Chairman's award went to Specsavers Creative for its 'Horse Whisperer' campaign for Irish Hearcare. The Specsavers team also won the top prizes for the consumer and radio commercial categories. Connect scooped both the B2B and press campaign categories for '1981' for Tarmac Limited.
At the CIPR Midlands ceremony, HROC PR scooped four gold awards in the corporate & business communications, best use of measurement & evaluation, best campaign £10,000 and under and consumer relations categories. McCann PR was awarded gold in best use of social media for its 'You Know You Wanna' campaign for National Express.
