Regional press roundup

Salisbury Journal motoring editor Melissa Terry is leaving the weekly newspaper today after 17 years, to start up her own business.

Terry will continue to write for Wiltshire Society magazine but her position will not be filled at the Journal. The motoring section will now be subbed in Southampton by Southern Daily Echo staff. Both newspapers are published by Newsquest in Hampshire.

The Ipswich Evening Star has appointed James Marsden as entertainment editor to replace Helen Johns.

Hartlepool Mail news editor, Peter McCusker is leaving the daily paper. A replacement is yet to be appointed.

The Evening Standard has launched the website www.standard.co.uk to run alongside the existing thisislondon.co.uk. The site contains news, features and campaigns from the print edition as well as blogs, polls and podcasts.
