Reshuffle on Telegraph finance desk

Telegraph Media Group has announced a series of promotions and appointments on its finance desk this week.

Richard Fletcher has been promoted to City editor of the Daily Telegraph, making him responsible for editing and preparing the business section of the paper. He will also write a column for the section.

Fletcher will take over responsibility from Damian Reece who will oversee the company’s next stage of financial coverage online as channel manager. He will continue to be head of business.

Jonathan Sibun will now be deputy City editor. Alistair Osborne continues in his role as business editor.

At the Sunday Telegraph, Kamal Ahmed is set to replace Mark Kleinman as City editor from 29 September 2009. He is joining from The Observer where he was an executive editor. He will be joined by Lawrie Holmes, former Sunday Express business editor, who will become deputy City editor.
