Richard Gurner leaves Brighton Argus

Brighton Argus web editor Richard Gurner has left the south coast daily newspaper to work on his own local news website in South Wales.

Gurner started CaerphillyObserver.co.uk two years ago as a part-time project but will now be working on the website full-time. Gurner says: “Being a reporter on your home patch is simply the best job there is and I am passionate about local news and the role it plays in the community. There is a huge appetite for news in Caerphilly, one which I believe is not being satisfied by traditional media. This is a golden opportunity to really make a difference to news provision in my home community and create something that is sustainable.”
