Emma Morton, health and science editor at The Sun is leaving the paper after thirteen years to join Ruder Finn as media strategist.
Joining at the end of May, Morton will report to Vicky O’Connor, head of healthcare.
Morton is joining as part of the London healthcare team and will be providing consultancy for media campaigns across the division. In addition, she will also have a wider agency role, working with all teams to build on their results, and deliver integrated media campaigns that suit the needs of both clients and media.
Nick Leonard, UK managing director of Ruder Finn, said: “Emma’s appointment is part of the ongoing strengthening of the Ruder Finn London healthcare team. We’ve experienced significant growth and have made some high profile appointments to ensure that we build on this.
"She will also have a wider agency role, helping us to deliver an integrated proposition which reflects both the changing media landscape and client needs. Having worked at probably the most high profile UK national daily she has true experience of where the media is going and how communications needs to be delivered."
