Senior changes at The Guardian
Deputy editor of The Guardian, Paul Johnson, is set to take over as head of sport after Ben Clissitt announced his departure last week (Friday 15 January 2010).
Johnson will remain deputy editor of The Guardian but will also oversee sport coverage, a role Clissitt has held since 2000.
Other changes at the paper include Georgina Henry changing from Comment Is Free editor to head of culture for The Guardian, Observer and online platforms.
Other departures include Rory McCarthy and Dan Glaister, Jeruslaem and LA correspondents respectively and reader’s editor, Siobhain Butterworth, who is returning to a career in law.
