Series of changes at The Observer

By Staff

17th December 2009

The Observer has announced a series of appointments in preparation for the revamp in the New Year.

It was announced last month that a number of supplements would close and the main paper would reduce the number of sections. As a result, the staff working on the magazines have been reshuffled.

Tim Lewis, currently editor of the Observer Sport Monthly, will become editor of Observer Magazine. He will be deputised by Polly Vernon and Emma John, deputy editor of Observer Woman and deputy editor of Observer Sport Monthly respectively.

Alice Fisher and Eva Wiseman, currently acting editor of Observer Woman, will become commissioning editors.

The only remaining monthly supplement, Observer Food Monthly, will be edited by Allan Jenkins of The Observer Magazine. Gareth Grundy, deputy editor of Observer Sport Monthly, will be his deputy.

Caspar Llewellyn Smith, who is editor of Observer Music Monthly, and Ursula Kenny, deputy editor of Observer Magazine, will become senior editors on the revamped Review section.
