Shooting Star PR to spearhead digital campaign

A major project to help people realise the benefits that superfast broadband will bring has recruited Shooting Star PR to handle a multi-channel PR, communications and events campaign.

Online Revolution is a project funded by the East Midlands European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and managed via Lincolnshire County Council which aims to raise awareness of the potential of superfast broadband and stimulate demand for the service from residents and businesses.

Shooting Star PR partnered with the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce to secure the contract after a competitive pitching process.

It’s been a good year of pitching so far for the Lincoln-based agency, which has also recently secured major contracts with Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln and the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

Shooting Star PR will now work with the Lincolnshire Chamber to deliver an online and offline PR and events campaign for the project, which runs until December 2013. The Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce and live event reporter Glenn Le Santo will support Shooting Star PR by facilitating a series of business and consumer-focused events in Lincolnshire to showcase the potential of broadband technology.

“We were delighted to land this latest contract and we look forward to helping to spread the word about the possibilities of superfast broadband,” said Kate Strawson, a director of Shooting Star PR.

“We have a very strong track record of public sector PR work and we’re very pleased that the strong consortium we put together for this bid has been successful.”
