Sportsister, the free women’s sports magazine and website, has been acquired by Athletics Weekly Limited.

Sportsister co-founders Danielle Sellwood and Louise Hudson will remain on the board of directors in their current positions of creative director and editorial director, continuing to shape the future of the brand.

Immediate plans include development of Sportsister’s digital offering, including a relaunch of its website Sportsister.com. In addition to this, Sportsister’s print issue will increase its frequency from bi-monthly to monthly and increase pagination from 36 to 52 pages. It will also gain ABC certification.
