Telegraph launching Android and iPhone apps

The Telegraph Media Group has announced it will be launching new mobile apps for both Android and iPhone in the coming weeks.

The apps, which will offer the same functionality across both platforms, will provide users the latest news from all over the world, business news and sports news. The app also offers users the option to customise the application to show only the news they’re interested in through a customisable home-page.

Premier League goals from ESPN, picture galleries and video, sharing capabilities, live financial data and offline browsing have also been incorporated.

The app will be free to access for Telegraph print and iPad subscribers and new users will be offered a free one-month trial on registration and a monthly charge thereafter. It will be available for purchase through iTunes.

Edward Roussel, Executive Editor, Digital, Telegraph Media Group said: “The launch of these two new apps is a significant step forward in our strategy of delivering our award-winning journalism on all the key digital devices. The apps have been designed to also give readers attractive new features including Premier League video and stats, a customisable homepage and offline reading at the touch of a fingertip.”

The launch date for the new app will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
