The Pharmaceutical Journal has redesigned its print publication and website to move away from the "look and feel" of a trade magazine to a professional journal.

Both formats have restructured their content to have clear and easily navigable sections, with the website having been restructured around pharmaceutical topics and article types. The website is responsive on mobile devices and there is a faceted search functionality.

In terms of access, a metered access model has been introduced, with users entitled to see a number of articles for free before registration, upon which users are able to see more articles before being asked to subscribe. In addition, following publisher research, both periodical packages of content (issues) and cloud content are available to users.

Finally, the publication's online interactive learning modules have been improved, allowing readers to access knowledge and complete modules for professional development purposes.

The Pharmaceutical Journal is published by PJ Publications and is the official journal of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
