West Cumberland Times & Star goes compact
The West Cumberland Times & Star has made the switch from broadsheet to compact size. The smaller format features 120 pages and a 40-page supplement. The Times & Star had been in broadsheet format since it's formation in 1967.
"The change is designed to provide ease of handling and ease of reading," says editor Steve Johnson.
"Many people have told us that we should have done it long before now. But we have taken our time because we know how important it is to maintain the editorial quality and sense of authority that comes from being a traditional newspaper."
The West Cumberland Times & Star is available every Friday, serving the Workington, Maryport and Cockermouth areas.
