Editor of Belfast’s News Letter named

Rankin Armstrong has been made editor of the News Letter in Belfast.

Armstrong, who has been acting editor since Darwin Templeton's departure earlier this year, has been at the paper for 14 years, the last five spent as deputy editor. Templeton went on to become an executive editor at UTV.

The News Letter has an average daily readership of 70,000.
