Financial Times’ Samuel Brittan retires
Financial Times economic commentator Samuel Brittan has retired after nearly five decades at the publication.
Sir Brittan, who turned 80 last December, was economics editor at The Observer from 1961-64 and an adviser at the Department of Economic Affairs before joining the FT in 1966. He was knighted in 1993 for "services to economic journalism".
