Bauer expands Kiss brand
Bauer Media is expanding its Kiss brand with the launch of two spin-off digital radio stations, Kisstory and KissFresh.
RAJAR figures show that Kiss, available on regional FM and national DAB, is the largest UK commercial radio station for 15-34 year olds.
Kisstory, which is a long-running daily feature on Kiss that reaches 1.3m weekly listeners, launches as its own station on the Freeview TV platform (channel 714), mobile, tablet and desktop. The station will play non-stop old skool and anthems.
KissFresh is an on-demand digital station playing non-stop music including hip-hop, R&B, EDM, house and garage. It will launch via the Kiss Player and through the KissKube iOS app on tablets and mobile.
Both stations commence on 7 May 2013. The extended Kiss brand of stations will adopt the strapline 'the Beat of the UK'.
Steve Parkinson, managing director of Bauer Radio London, said “Kiss was born as a dance radio station at a time when genres were very specific but fast forward to the present day and the evolution of music is so wide that one Kiss station alone cannot deliver everything. We’re giving audiences more of what they want while attracting new audiences and commercial partners with what we know are fantastic music and content formats.”
Kisstory and KissFresh will be added to the FeaturesExec Media Database shortly.
