Immediate Media has appointed Kevin Smith as deputy editor of BBC Gardeners’ World magazine.

Smith will report to BBC Gardeners’ World magazine editor, Lucy Hall, and his responsibilities will include managing the magazine’s editorial content day-to-day, and helping to identify new opportunities for audience engagement across multiple platforms.

Smith has been working as features coordinator for the magazine since 2014 and during the last five years he has also been freelancing in garden writing, editing and content creation. This has included creating video content for and hosting live events at the annual Gardeners’ World Live show.
