Daybreak to end as ITV launches Good Morning Britain

ITV Breakfast is to axe Daybreak later this year and replace the programme with Good Morning Britain and a fresh presentation team which includes BBC Breakfast presenter Susanna Reid.
Reid, who co-presented BBC One's morning programme from 2003 and competed on the channel's entertainment show Strictly Come Dancing last year, will be one of the main presenters of Good Morning Britain, weekdays between 06:00 and 08:30.
Joining Reid will be former GMTV presenter Ben Shephard, Sky Sports presenter Sean Fletcher and Sky News Sunrise presenter Charlotte Hawkins.
Current Daybreak hosts Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones have been deployed elsewhere on ITV's morning schedule. Kelly will expand her role as presenter of Lorraine, Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 09:25.
Meanwhile, Jones will front a Saturday and Sunday morning series, Weekend, produced by Cactus TV. The chat show will centre around a main musical guest, along with two further guests from entertainment.
Helen Warner, ITV director of daytime, said: "Engaging, news driven content is our number one priority and will be at the heart of everything we do on Good Morning Britain. I believe we have a top team in place to deliver this and make this a compelling proposition to wake up to in the morning".
