Following confirmation of Trinity Mirror‘s purchase of Northern & Shell, Hugh Whittow and Dawn Neesom have stepped down from their roles as Editor of the Daily Express and Daily Star respectively. Dawn will continue to write for the Daily Star as a Columnist and Interviewer.
Trinity Mirror has made a number of appointments to fill the top editorial roles at the Express, Star and Mirror titles: Gary Jones has been made Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Express and Sunday Express; Jonathan Clark is now Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Star and Daily Star Sunday; Caroline Waterston has been appointed as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of all four Express and Star titles; Alison Phillips is now Editor of the Daily Mirror; and Peter Willis has been made Editor of the Sunday Mirror and The People.
Martin Townsend will continue as Editor of the Sunday Express, working under Gary Jones, and Stuart James will remain as Daily Star Sunday Editor under Jonathan Clark. Finally, Michael Booker and William Izzard will continue in their Deputy Editor roles at the Daily Express and Daily Star respectively.
