The Times confirms Head of News will become joint position

The Times has named Dan Parkinson and Katherine Faulkner as joint Head of News. This follows confirmation that Fay Schlesinger is standing down from the position in May to take up a digital role in Silicon Valley.

Dan, currently Home Editor at the paper, will be acting Head of News until Katherine (currently Executive Features Director at the Daily Mail) returns from maternity leave in the summer. Meanwhile, Mark Sellman, Deputy Home Editor, will take over as Home News Editor.
