The Official Chart on BBC Radio 1 moving to Fridays from July

BBC Radio 1's The Official Chart will be moving to Fridays. From July 2015, the "countdown of the 40 best-selling and most streamed singles in the UK" will take place between 16:00-18:00 as part of Greg James' show. This change reflects the record industry moving to a synchronised global release day of Friday. The final hour of Greg James' Friday show (18:00-19:00) will continue to focus on dance anthems.

From May, BBC Radio 1 will be working together with CBBC to create the CBBC Official Chart Show, "an energetic mix of pop, gossip, UGC interactive features and fast-moving entertainment" which will be hosted by Cel Spellman.
