Promotions on The Sun’s showbiz team

The Sun has made several promotions on its showbiz team following Gordon Smart’s appointment as editor of The Scottish Sun.

Lia Nicholls, current Bizarre deputy editor, and Jennifer O’Brien, showbiz editor of The Irish Sun, have been made joint editors of Bizarre, replacing Smart in this role.

Nicholls has been deputy editor of Bizarre since 2010. She began her career at The Independent as editorial assistant, before joining The Sun as a showbiz reporter in 2006.

O’Brien will be joining the team in London after six years at The Irish Sun. She started out as a feature writer before moving to the showbiz desk in 2008.

Finally, Stuart Pink has been appointed deputy showbiz editor. He started as a news reporter at Redhill and Reigate Life before joining The Sun Online team in 2007. He moved across to the showbiz desk in 2010.

Nicholls, O’Brien and Pink will report to Dan Wootton, head of showbiz at the paper.
