Smooth Radio to relaunch in March

Smooth Radio is to relaunch next month under Global Radio's ownership with a refreshed schedule and presentation team.

Andrew Castle has been hired to present the Smooth Radio breakfast show in London. The former tennis professional and GMTV presenter replaces Simon Bates on weekdays between 06:00 and 10:00. Castle will also host Andrew Castle Meets on Sunday evenings across the UK, where he will interview a celebrity.

Kate Garraway will be mid-morning presenter from Monday 3 March. The Daybreak presenter will broadcast weekdays from 10:00 until 13:00 and replaces Lynn Parsons.

Paul Phear, former Magic 105.4 presenter, will host weekday afternoons from 13:00 until 16:00.

Myleene Klass, who currently works at sister station Classic FM, will present a weekly Saturday programme between 10:00 and 14:00.

Smooth Radio has introduced a new strapline, 'Your Relaxing Music Mix', and will revert back to regional programming on its frequencies in London, East Midlands, West Midlands, the North West and North East.
