Guardian appoints head of documentaries

Guardian News & Media (GNM) has appointed Charlie Phillips to the position of head of documentaries.

Reporting to the Guardian’s executive editor (Multimedia) Merope Mills, Phillips will be responsible for initiating and overseeing the Guardian’s acquisition and production of international documentaries of all lengths and genres.

Phillips will move from Sheffield Doc/Fest, where he is currently deputy director, on October 20.
