Johnston Press has made a number of editorial changes at a number of its North Midlands and South Yorkshire titles.

Derbyshire Times group editor James Mitchinson has been appointed as group editor of The Star (Sheffield) and Sheffield Telegraph. He succeeds Jeremy Clifford who left the newspapers last month to edit the Yorkshire Post and Yorkshire Evening Post.

Doncaster Free Press and Epworth Bells & Crowle Advertiser editor Graeme Huston replaces Mitchinson in his Derbyshire Times role. Huston will also have responsibility for the Matlock Mercury and other associated weeklies.

Phil Bramley, who is currently assistant editor of the Derbyshire Times, will become editor of the Mansfield Chad, Ashfield Chad, Alfreton Chad and Hucknall Dispatch from the end of this month.

Mitchinson begins his role on 7 October while Huston starts on 30 September.
