The Regional Press Awards winners announced
The winners of the Regional Press Awards for 2012 were announced on Friday 17 May at an awards ceremony at Savoy Place in London.
The Liverpool Echo won four awards including Daily / Sunday Newspaper of the Year award for newspapers with circulations of more than 25,000, whilst garnering particular praise for its Hillsborough campaign.
Wales on Sunday, another Trinity Mirror title, scooped the Daily / Sunday newspaper of the Year award for titles with circulations of less than 25,000.
The Southern Daily Echo claimed two prizes at the awards, with Simon Walter winning daily / Sunday sports Journalist of the Year and Melanie Adams taking home Scoop of the Year.
