The Sun has become the first national paper to introduce dedicated hashtags to its news stories.
The move is designed to encourage readers to engage with the Sun’s content online and extend its digital reach.
Each day in the paper a selection of hashtags will be published accompanying specific stories and readers will be asked to share their thoughts on the news.
The editor David Dinsmore said: “The Sun has always powered the nation’s conversation, but by printing hashtags alongside our news we are making it easy for readers to share their opinions and continue the story online. In an increasingly digital world, it will also help a whole new generation discover Sun content and our unique brand of journalism.”
