Vote for Guardian editorship to be held
Four of The Guardian candidates applying for the editor job replacing Alan Rusbridger have chosen to put their names forward for a staff ballot.
The four are former Guardian digital director Emily Bell, who has been director of the Tow Centre for Digital Journalism in the US since 2010; Wolfgang Blau, who joined the paper in 2012 and is director of digital strategy; TheGuardian.com editor Janine Gibson; and Guardian US editor Katharine Viner.
According to the Scott Trust (which owns The Guardian), 26 people applied to replace Alan Rusbridger as Guardian editor.
Of these, only four have expressed the wish to make their case publicly before Guardian journalists in an open hustings on 25 February.
The vote will open on 26 February and close on 4 March.
